If you have a need to check IBM FRU/PNs against IBM's available Parts Pricing, this little utility may save you some time.

There are three areas.

Options Area: Upper left, in yellow
Input Area  : Upper right (a gentle peach color but technically 'CornSilk')
Output Area : Lower left - white with a light blue border.


Quick Demo:

Click the Demo Data button above.  This will populate the input area.
Click the Process button.  This will output any PNs (as live html links).  
Clicking the PN link will open a new tab and query IBM's Maint Parts portal.

You can type or paste into the input area.
The input area can be re-sized on most browsers.


Tip: Quick Copy Paste Method.

Go to any web page, document, pdf, etc. that contains valid PNs/FRUs. 
Then press keyboard CTL+A (select all) and then CTL+C  (copy selection).
Then click in the above input area and press keyboard CTL-V (paste from clipboard).

(You can also right click in the input area and use the context menu Paste option).


Processing:

The goal is to take a bunch of data and render it down to a list of unique 7x character FRU/PNs.

Once you have typed or pasted data, click the Process Button.

Output is sent to the left panel as a list of unique PNs --- converted to active web links.

Clicking on a PN Link will check IBM's Maintenance parts for PN/FRU validity and pricing.

All links will point to IBM's Maintenance Parts Pricing portal.

note: if you want to keep a copy of the links or PNs, click the 'Show Raw Data' switch.  This will open a separate panel with just the raw data (you can choose between PNs Only and fully formed html links).


Options:

Processing:  The output can be sorted Ascending or Unsorted.

Link Click:  When clicking on a PN Link, we can either open a new tab, or keep re-using the same 'dedicated' tab. 

Note: Dedicated tab is not supported on MS-Interenet Explorer or older versions of MS-Edge

PN Pingback: When clicking on a PN Link, you can ping the 7 chr PN to us.
This allows us improve the data in RISC Analysis.
